Good rhinoplasty is not rushed. The journey below is deliberately unhurried, with time built in to examine, to plan, to reflect and to recover. It is the same path every patient takes, carried out in some of London’s finest medical facilities.
It begins with a confidential enquiry, by form, telephone or email. The practice replies personally, usually the same day, to understand what is on your mind and to arrange a consultation at a time that suits you. Nothing is committed to at this stage.
Your consultation takes place at London Medical (Marylebone) and Cromwell Hospital (Kensington). Mr Anwar examines the nose inside and out — how it looks and how it breathes — and listens to what actually bothers you. As an ENT surgeon he assesses function first, then the aesthetics that sit on top of it. You will leave understanding what is realistically achievable, and what is not.
Standardised photographs are taken and, where it helps, a computer morph is used to show a realistic prediction of the result. You see the proposed change on your own face and discuss it openly. The plan that goes into theatre is the plan you have agreed together — not a surprise on the day.
You take the time you need to decide. A clear written quotation and surgical plan follow the consultation, with everything the fee includes set out plainly. A second consultation is always preferable to ensure mutual understanding and rapport building. Most patients have one before going ahead.
Surgery is carried out at the Cromwell Hospital or the Cadogan Clinic, under a general anaesthetic given by a consultant anaesthetist. Mr Anwar operates with an experienced theatre team around him. Most patients stay one night; some go home the same day, depending on the procedure.
A small splint protects the nose for about a week and is removed in clinic, along with any dressings. You are given clear guidance on swelling, bruising and returning to work and exercise, and you have direct access to the team if anything concerns you between appointments.
The nose keeps refining long after the splint comes off. Reviews are arranged at one week, six weeks and beyond, and the final result continues to settle over the course of a year. Mr Anwar follows your recovery the whole way through.
